Resetting the ECU should not make you nervous. Sometimes, with certain issues that come up, this is a good way to resolve them (not always). All it does is puts back the default settings like when you first drove the car off the lot. It ran fine then, right? It'll just take a few driving cycles to re-learn your own particular conditions. Are you modded up? If not, it should be that much different.
