Yep! He is the only mechanic in his town that can still reliably work on carburetors too. It is hilarious as he laughs when other shops send them. He says "it is just physics!!!" . If you knew my dad you would know how funny that is I was blessed though growing up. He never just fixed my cars or motorcycles for me. He said ok, there is the shop, get started and I will answer questions. This is why in my entire grown up life, I have never had to pay anyone to work on my cars beyond tire mounting and alignments. And when I do have an issue, I can always run things by him. I also used to go work for him when I was short of work and needed some quick cash through college. He is still at it today at 77.

OP, look at all the conflict you started by not providing a CEL code.

I learned syncing Webers on old 911S. What a pain!

My 1972 BMW 2002Ti with side draft Webers.

This should have been the first response:

If you don’t already have one, go buy yourself a $40 OBD2 code reader. It will work on all cars in the USA 1996-present. Plug in and get the code.

Post it here.
Knowledge is power.
Guessing is not

Well I did mention that in my first response ... but I said $20 ... my pricing is quite out of date most likely lol. I also say stuff happened a few years ago that happened 10 years ago!!! Damned years fly by. But yeah, it is 100% worth having that tool. Even if you do a lot of your own wrenching it is nice to have and if you post the codes here there are plenty of people willing to help guide you.

I notice the OP with one post to his name has not responded. He did join back in 2012.
