I don't think it's the rod bearing on the crank.. A failing/spun bearing usually has a constant knock.

Maybe check your oil level and make sure it is up after you have started it and run it for a bit.

Oil is at the top "X," with roughly 4.75 to 5 quarts of oil.

Rod bearing noise is mostly heard when you hold the revs over 2,500rpm. Also if it was a crank bearing, you would hear it even without de-activating a cylinder. For all we know it could be fixed with something as simple as a valve adjustment. Worst case scenario you have mild rod knock which isn't the end of the world. I say inspect the valves which is much easier to do than dropping the oil pan, and go from there. In fact re-listening to your original video you probably have a ridiculously loose valve, probably one of the intake ones.

That's what I was thinking. If it was a rod or crank bearing it would have still been knocking even if u took the coil off.

rod bearing will stop if you remove the corresponding coil. Or at least reduce the noise considerably.

If you have a spun bearing, you will hear a few VERY distinct knocks, 3-6 of them, at cold startup.

Obviously there are some people here who know more than I do but the sound doesn't sound that out of the ordinary IMO.

Would excessive clearance from bearing wear make the same noise?

No severe knocks on startup. In fact, you can't hear any knocking until the car idles back down.

It is not, luckily. I will do both those things when I have a free weekend.
