Default Engine Knocking ://

Hey guys I just got my s2k fixed a few months ago went from an Ap1 2001 F20, to the 2001 JDM F20? and bam the same king of knocking from the engine bay like last time and they check engine light came on once again...

I know i cant drive it anymore, until a mechanic comes and checks it out. But are there any suggestions to what I could do in between now?

next step would be for me to check spark plugs.. I probably will tomorrow..

EDIT!: MY CEL Light is now flashing so im leaving the car alone till i get the code checked. :/

Was the block replaced first time or just rebuilt?

Hom much oil does it have in it now? almost sounds like you ran it dry again....

as for the looks of the oil i couldn't get a good eye cause it got dark pretty soon after.

Um, maybe the old engine wasn't really bad. Maybe this knocking is something else. Did you reuse anything from old motor, like maybe something belt driven, alternator, A/C compressor, etc? Maybe its some component you had before, and still have now after motor swap, that is making noise.

Either that or whatever aweful thing you did to kill the old motor, you didn't learn from your mistake and have done again. Do you know what the root cause of your previous motor failure was? I would be concerned if you do not.

Yea a lot of the old stuff was used, i just basically put in a different engine, and yea the last engine in this car had some bad compression due to having some bent valves.
Im going to be checking the CEL Light as soon as i can get my hands on the scanner.

MY Shifter above the tranny is really shaky as the engine is on as well..

Then I suspect the noise is not the motor, but one of these reused accessories. Get a mechanics stethescope, and use that to detect where the noise is coming from.

You'll be able to tell if its from the motor itself, and if its bottom end or in the head, or if its something external to the motor.

Maybe post a video for someone to listen to. Also take a look at your engine/tranny mounts.
