Engine hesitates more than it used to when startin
When I first bought my certified used '03 S 2 years ago, one "feature" I really liked was that when I pushed the start button, the engine would roar to life with no hesitation. (It really gave the feeling of having the power right at my finger tip.) Now it takes a few cranks from the starter to get it going (takes maybe 2-3 seconds to start compared to maybe 1 second before). I dont think there is anything actually wrong with it, it behaves like several other cars I've driven. I just miss the instant power. It's been like this for a long time now, and I think it coincided with my first oil change (by the dealer), although I cant imagine how this would be related. I dont really understand the mechanics of how the car starts, so I dont know what would cause this. Is this just a matter of spark plugs, engine timing, or tuning in general? I realize weather could play a part in this, but the problem hasn't changed with the temperature. Anyone else experience the same thing?

Are you using the original (now 5 year old) battery?
That could be it, just a little less cranking amps.
How many miles on the car?
Time for a sparkplug change?
Air filer is clean?
Or....
When you brought your car in for a servive you were driving around with sheared down to 0W-20 dino oil. Your dealer changed your oil with a syn 10W-30 and that has thickened now to an almost straight 30 weight.
J/K!
Maybe you are just "seeing things"
(Maybe I am too with my oil remark)

The car now has 33k (bought it with 11k). I believe it is the original battery. Since they changed out so many things as part of the certification process, I have not really done anything to the car since I bought it other than change the oil. I may need to change the air filter.

If your car doesn't start almost immediately and you're not in special conditions (like freezing cold), something's not right.
