Engine heat damaging vtec solenoid harness
So, i was doing my routine engine oil check, and I noticed something.
My vtak harness piping cracked due to rubbing against the hot engine.
The plastic film, and the plastic piping were both cracked, and the internal wires are now exposed. Luckily, I'm pretty positive that the wiring is not damaged, as the wiring has no direct contact with the engine (yet), and I've been able to vtak my car just fine.
I'm just wondering,
does anyone else have this issue? I thought that I must have screwed up reinstalling my head cover, but after further inspection, it looks as if the oem design has the harness clipped in such a way that the harness is bound to rub against the engine eventually.
Also, if this is common,
how do you guys deal with it? I'm thinking of finding a way to re-mount the holding clip so that the harness would be directed away from the engine.
