Engine fire damage.

Engine fire damage.
Hi Guys,
I unfortunately suffered an engine fire the other day, fortunately I was on a trackday, so the Marshall's got it extinguisher pretty quickly, so it's not catastrophic damage.
The engine also runs, so good news there.
This was the aftermath:
Have given it a hose down, and does not look so bad:
The real damage is around the vtec solenoid/ oil pressure sensors:
I'm guessing it will need a new Vtec solenoid.
The oil pressure sensor has completely melted! So I will replace that.
My issue is how is it all wired up?
I have 2 cables coming from the engine rocker cover, one goes directly to the lower oil sensor (temperature?)
Then the other is just melted.
Does the Vtec solenoid get connected into the oil pressure sensor, or should there be some other wires somewhere?
Cheers for any help in this.

Boy, you may want to determine how far back the damage is and see if you can get the harness clipped that far back and then just splice the 2 sections together. Or just get a whole harness and splice in the damaged section. That would be the easiest route IMO

I'm pretty sure the fire was caused by a loose oil filter, as it was a bit loose, and the engine has lost 2L of oil, but thankfully I don't think it lost pressure, and the engine does run smoothly at idle.
The wiring is good from where it goes across the rocker cover, so was planning on joining some new cable to there?
I have come across a used Vtec unit on eBay for £100 so planning on getting this, then work out the wiring..?
Cheers

I'm afraid it was a "Mann" filter and just hand tightened.
Never had an issue with previous cars, but a google now shows me this was a big mistake with the S2000.
Lesson learned!!

It depends on the filter you use, the seal area in particular. The OEM ones you tighten to 18ft lbs however.
