Default Engine Died, Failed auto tensioner? Please Help

Okay so last night I was driving around, and I gave it some gas to get around this car, and all of a sudden, Total power loss, she started slowing down, so I pushed the clutch in and the motor was dead, I tried to start her while in motion, but got nothing but the sound of a motor rolling over. It never made a sound when it happened. So I towed her back home, and this morning I went outside and put a wrench on the crank and roll her over by hand, she rolls over extremely easy, too easy I do believe, and I put my ear to the valve cover and could heard no movement of the valve train, I don't think I popped a timing chain cause I am sure it would of made a very noticeable sound, so the only conclusion I have is the auto tensioner failed.

Has this happened to anyone before??

she is a 2003 with 50k on her

Any helpful input would be appreciated

Update: I just pulled the Auto Tensineor, and it is is working order, So I am going to jerk to valve cover. I am starting to lean towards a broke camshaft, or a broke key way on the crank

Okay well I finally got the head off the car, and it was not good, I snapped a valve off at the retainer on the intake side of number 1 cylinder, so now I need a head pistons and sleeves, It sucked all the metal fragments threw every cylinder. I will post pictures later

Sorry to hear,

Did you ever over rev your engine? Or buy it used?
