Engine cut out randomly when approaching a stop

What I'd do is run the car to burn off some of that gas you last used. Then, fill it with known good stuff. See if that solves the issue, before diving headlong into diagnosis and fixes. Bad gas has given me the Blues, before.
Good luck!

Well, at least down to 1/4 tank left. At least that's what I'd do.
Good luck! for cheap fix.

This is so funny though because at the traffic circle where the first cut out occurred I remember thinking "wow the idle is extremely smooth" only to look at the gauge cluster and realise the car's off

If the car is running fine under acceleration and only does this dropping to idle I would not put my money on bad fuel being the cause. Not saying it is impossible, but usually if you are dealing with bad fuel, it will be worse under load than idle.

Have you cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve? The can cause a rough/low idle or poor return to idle that could be what you are seeing here.

I have cleaned it several months ago and spun the motor's opening with a screwdriver then applied a light amount of idle to the sides of the opening to lube it. After starting it up it idled quite high then came back down probably as a result of me having spun the motor. I'm wondering whether my IACV needs replacement or not...? I say that because I ran it down to 1 bar of fuel then filled up with Shell V Power but it still stalled twice at random locations.
