Engine Bogs!

Engine Bogs!
So I was in a hurry and hit VTEC in first gear. My head was throw forward because a little after 6k and maybe 30 mph in first, my car suddenly stopped accelerating. It is hard to explain but here is my best shot:
The feeling of shifting wrong when you're first learning and the car starts jumping, only the part where the car doesn't "go". I have a CEL on for VTEC problems but for the past month I've had no problems with my VTEC, pulls strong to 9k. There also might be EVAP leak...idk if that would do this though.
Any thought?

Your engine wasn't fully warmed up probably, it happens not a good think to do often. Honda designed it so that you can't VTEC before the engine is fully warmed up. In summary don't try to VTEC till your engine is fully warmed up.
