Eliminating chance of hydrolock, currently have Injen CAI
Have been seeing a ton of threads on hydrolocking with the Injen and AEM cold air intakes. I currently have the Injen and been losing some hair. I don't take the car out in the rain and if it rains while I'm out, I always check the filter to see if there is any water before starting.
I really want to eliminate the chance of hydrolock, so I'm considering 3 options:
1. Use the hydroshield and cover up hole in engine bay that leads to top of filter (Basically do s2000ellier outlined in this post)
2. Remove secondary intake and convert to short ram
3. Convert back to stock
What do you guys recommend here?

Any kind of sock or shield won't mitigate the most important risk, which is the intake actually sucking up water in a puddle. Residual rain water, yes. but that doesn't seem like all that of a concern imo.
This is what I currently have install on my AEM intake and it helps a lot preventing it from hydro locking. http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-ST...item484b4a1177

Whatever you're comfortable with. I have a Fujita and I use a shield and plugged the hole. You have to determine your biggest priority and act accordingly.
We definitely get a lot more down here than SoCal.
