Default Electrical problem - parking lights

This forum has been so helpful in the past, I'm looking for any suggestions with this problem that my S is having. When I have had the lights on while driving and I go to turn the car off, the parking lights stay on. Basically when I turn the knob on the stalk, its as if I'm not turning it all the way. Well, if I switch it on and off a few times it will finally go off. Now, if this was the only problem I would just say its the switch. When I get out of the car and go to lock it with the remote (I have the OEM alarm) the parking lights go back on. I unlock the car, they go back off, and then when I lock it again they go back on. Basically I have to sit there for a minute or so unlocking and locking the car until they go off. I'm pretty good with electronics, but can't seem to find the common link between these two problems. Thanks

Perhaps the tech who wired in the OEM alarm did a really crappy job with the connections. It looks like you've got a short someplace or the alarm itself is now faulty.
