Electrical problem on my 2000 S2000
#12
OK, new battery in. Old one was bad.
Alternator tested fine.
Checked ground on fire wall by battery - good.
Checked every fuse - all good
Cruise control and power mirrors tested working fine so did not go all pull up the kick panel and check the G501 ground.
Accessory power supply (cig lighter)tested and works fine.
Lights, turn signals, wipers, windshield washers, dash lights, break lights - all working fine.
Power locks do not work. Previous symptoms persist.
I'm thinking next step is to replace the soft top control unit (86500-S2A-A01) and possibly even the keyless control unit (38380-S2A-A01). I am thinking I may need the latter because of the non functioning remote door and trunk opener.
Still perplexed by the radio and interior lights.
Any thoughts or comments before I jump into the next step will be greatly appreciated.

What happens when you press the transmitter lock button twice in a row....does the horn sound as it should? (i take it your doors are not locking with the transmitter?)

Some of your issues are IGN dependent, some are not. Good new is these problems are not intermitting.
Personally, I would start with the easiest BATT powered system, the trunk release button. Pop it out with a plastic pry tool (it comes out very easy) and test the terms for power.
Be sure there is power coming in and out of the fuse for it.

Firstly thanks for the advice and feedback and sorry for taking so long to report back.
Replaced the battery and then found a salvaged soft top controller on eBay. Installation was easy. New controller fixed most problems (whoooo hoo) except dead radio and interior lights not working.
So we are not done yet. But car is back on the road and functional.
I will report back once we figure out the rest.
