Lol...if the ground was tight that probably wasn't the issue unfortunately. The ignition switch could be another possibility...especially if the whole cluster is losing power when the engine dies.

I just resoldered the bad wire really nice and electrical taped it up like a boss

Same **** no start!!!!
Damn...so I know you said you checked all the grounds but can you verify you have a solid engine to chassis ground cable. You could try testing continuity between the block and battery negative post (not terminal ring). Test under a load also.

2. If the starter button was bad, could that be related to No. 1? I can't risk having a car that shuts off randomly.
Sounds like you have ignition switch problem (if car shuts off random)

Watch the video on how to diagnose it very easily (its honda accord but essentialy same)...

Will test it, I took apart the start button and noticed the red LED doesn't work. Maybe it's dead or perhaps my transponder/ignition key is having issues which would explain the shutdown. It would also explain while the ignition relay cutoff is failing(just a click)....no key detected and the system shuts down or doesn't even attempt to start the engine, just power the basic electronics.

I'm going to find my second key set and try it out.

Yes, however the click from the relay only engages if it's pressed in so I know the clutch pedal is engaging.
