Default electric power steering problem

I just got an s2k with front damage but did not bend any of the steering components. the problem is that steering seems normal going to the left but going past the middle to the right it become real harm and it only turns just a little. any possible cause? I read something about a torque sensor.

I had a similar problem, my remedy was replacing the steering rack. They go for about $100~ used. Just make sure if you have an AP1 to get an AP1 rack, The steering ratios differ between AP1, AP2 and the CR.

They will both fit; what I am saying is the steering ratio is different between AP1 and AP2 (number of times you have to turn the wheel from lock to lock).

You have to jump pins 4 and 9 on the OBDII port. Then do the procedures. Search for it.

Most of us consider the ap1 rack a more favorable ratio/upgrade since its more direct with steering wheel input. CR uses the same ratio. Keep that tip in mind if you need a replacement.
