Default Effect of Tire Preasure & Unbalanced Wheels

I just got new wheels on my car and I am having some trouble with the car veering left when I accelerate and when I press the clutch in it jumps to the right. When I get to higher speeds it gets unstable and bumpy.

I already know that my differential is f'ed and is getting replaced soon, but on the stock wheels it didn't happen. This could be because the wheels are larger and have alot more grip, however with the stock wheels there wasnt even a hint of the same problem.

I checked the tire preasure this morning and both of the rears were at 30 psi.. the fronts were in the area of 30 psi.

When I first had the same wheels on it was the exact opposite (veered right, and jumped left when clutch depressed)

What do you guys think the problem could be? I doesn't seem to me that it's the diff because the problem didnt happen with the stock wheels.. Is it possible that the wheels were not balanced correctly? If so, would the problem be this drastic??

Thanks

Chris

Are you sure the lugs are tight? Which wheels did you get? May have to do with the hubcentric rings but I doubt it. Probably not balanced properly.

They are custom HREs .. I am pretty damn sure the lugs are on tight! They were put on by one of those air gun thingies..

If the car is steering left and right during accel/clutch depress would it be only the rear tires that are unbalanced, or could it be one of the front tires??

Thanks

Chris

They could both throw it off but I suspect the diff to be getting worse and possibly the wider rubber having a negative effect on that (reinforcing an already bad tendency). Also, "in the area" of 30 psi may not be enough, and 30 is too low, period. You should never run tires under 32 psi on the street, probably much higher than that depending on your driving habits. I'd put at least 23 in and be sure they are the same L to R. Don't use a gas station gauge, try and get a good gauge and be sure what they're set to. It doesn't take much pressure to change the contact patch and alter handling.
