ecu harness check...
how do u check the with the "voltmeter" on the ecu connections.....when i had the ems, the car shuts off when the harness was moved in a certain way...........now im trying to put back in the stock ecu, but before that i like to repair the bad connection.. how would one find the culprit wire??? do i need the car to be on the "on" position... dont u need the ecu in for that? or is that only to start the car?

- how about put stock ecu in, start car and wiggle the connectors/harness?
- maybe it was the EMS or the harness extension? lets hope it was the extension..

it wasnt the extension harness i was speaking of... i was talking about the stock harness.. one of the pins are bad and i narrowed it down to one of the connectors.......but i still need to know how to check for voltage in the pins.

You can't just test for volatge at the pin unless you know what is supposed to be at that pin. Some pins are 12V so you use a volt meter between the pin and ground. Some are ground, so you use a Ohm meter between them and the chassis. Some are signals to or from sensors or devices and may be voltages, resistance to ground, or pulsed signals.
Sorry this just ain't the way to test it.
What you have to do is narrow down what pins you think it might be and work out some tests for them. Or maybe just opwrk out where they go and put an Ohm meter between the pin and where they connect to whatever they connect to.
