Default ebay J's/Spoon style inake snorkel doesn't fit

here's the original post where i asked if it will fit without cutting the hood.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...T&f=1&t=515300

after putting it in place, it looks like there's no way it's going to fit even if i cut the hood. it needs a hood with a hump for the intake. looks like i'll be looking to get a carbon hood. i don't want a snorkel that's too restrictive at the bend

it doesn't fit because it's not design for a stock hood.
a $500 Mugen intake doesn't fit with stock hood also, does that mean it's junk?

Wouldn't know? I went with forced induction instead.

I bought one from Ebay, and it fit just fine. It's just a fiber glass mold of the Spoon design.

Your's looks different than the Spoon. There doesn't seem to be the straighter, flattened area on the under side of the snorkle like the Spoon an other replicas have to allow the snorkle to fit over the radiator and cross beam. It looks a whole lot fatter than mine.

So why the hell did you buy it when one of the site's most knowledgeable members told you that it would not fit?
