If u have vsa I know in the 06 models u just take out the fuse 1 and this sets it into limp mode cause the ecu can't read the throttle modulator. Which also limits the rpm to 3k.

If you unplug the transmission speed sensor, the instrument cluster will always read 0 mph, and the car will hit rev limit around 6000rpm.

I wonder about the cable throttle... if they get pissed and jam down the throttle... what will happen to the cable lock?

My suggestion... wait for it... RACELOGIC TRACTION CONTROL.

You can set the limits however you want. Soft limits, hard limits, etc.

You can set it to rev limit at any rpm you like.
And to be aggressive at a very low slip.

No burnouts. No revving. No donuts. Nothing.

They won't be able to change the program without a laptop and the software.

I do this when I bring the car to a shop.

Get the Modifry redline shift beeper. It has a valet mode. The valet mode turns the device into an rpm limiter. You can easily set the rpm limit to whatever you want and then remove it after you pick up your car and sell the beeper here, or just keep it for the standard beeper function.

Do I win?

Don't deal with a shady ass shipping company?
You wouldnt let a thief watch your house while on vacation, so why let some reckless scumbag use your car?

Not true, unless you are trying to redline a cold s2k. Once you hit 3 bars on the water temp gauge, you can hit redline standing still (0mph).

@Ckit: can that be done to the base model RLTC? probably, but the software wouldn't connect through VMWare and a USB-to-RS232 connector, so I never really looked at it again

but if this can be easily done, than maybe I should get the stuff working after all

If you already have a Racelogic, then it's a no-brainer.

You can do it with the base model and I use a USB adapter. If I remember, I had to download a generic USB to serial driver off the Internet to get it to recognize.

You can set the rev limiter to 4000 and to have a very aggressive injector pulse sequence.
