Default Dynoed my car this weekend:

I dynoed my car this weekend on a Dynojet dyno and was less than happy with the results. I made 183.27 hp and 126.75 tq with the following mods:

Comptech Short Ram Intake
Invidia Cat-Back

I know it's not much, but shouldn't I be making a little more power than this?

it could be weather attributed (humidity). Any readings on the AF reading.

Do you know what your coolant temps were? How long was it between showing up at the shop and the car beeing put on the rollers? What was your dyno stock?

The North Texas S2000 Owners Club had a dyno day a couple years ago that had results ranging in the 180s to the 200s. The one that dyno'ed in the 180s had more mods than the ones that made 200. Not all F20Cs are created equal. I also think that your intake may be playing a part, if it is drawing in air from behind the radiator (I'm not familiar with the Comptech Short Ram). I haven't seen weather or heat soak cause more than 10 HP difference.

Not all S's are created equal. I've seen numbers vary by 15 hp on stock cars.

The humidity kills you, displacing burnable oxygen. I was less than happy when I did mine three days after the Hurricane in Naples Florida. I only got 315 rwhp and 187 torque. With all the mods I have I was hoping for more.

Your low HP# to the wheels can be attributed to many things. There isn't really anyway you can pin point the area that needs work although your intake is a great point to start! Short ram intakes are known for heat soak, especially if you live in a warm area and drove to the dyno without letting it cool off first. Humidity is a given, you understand that warm, water vapor saturated air IS NO GOOD for HP! Also, every F20C is built the same but doesn't mean your going to push the same #'s as stated earlier. Mileage and abuse, maintenance, as well as the inaccuracy of the dyno can all play a part.

Well, you have now:

The red line is with relatively cool (low 80s) weather. The blue line is with hot weather (mid-90s) and high humidity. The car also sat around for about an hour... enough to get good'n heat soaked.

That's where the stock ECU puts the A/F ratio. I don't have any fuel tuning done currently. When I had the VAFC installed, I was up around 13.5-13.7. Didn't make much difference on the low end, but helped above 8300 RPMs.

You'll notice that the blue graph starts getting really rich above 6800 RPMs. I suspect that is due to the ECU dumping in extra fuel to help cool the engine & prevent detonation. I suspect that the ECU was also pulling timing up there, too.

So I should let me car cool down first? I drove it right before I pulled it in. I assumed it needed to be at normal operating temp before running it. How cool are we talking about?
