I could see it maybe putting less stress on them for the intake stroke (since the boost pressurizes the chamber which pushes the piston down so it doesn't have to be "pulled" as hard by the rods/crankshaft... but for every other stroke, there's going to be more stress on the rods.
Or are you just referring to the fact that you have to rev an NA engine higher to make the same amount of power as an FI one? I'm not following your logic.

all you need to get 9k out of the ap2 is an ap1 ecu that i know of. I can't speak for aftermarket ecu's, i dont know anything about them. From what I know, that is because of the fuel shut off in the ap2 ecu which is around 8300, i think. don't quote me on it though.
hondata reflash will push it to 8.5k for '06+, maybe they will do a special request for 8.8k - your dyno looks like the power & torque is toe to toe at 8.6k+
