Default DYNO 187.27 WHP?

Well today in my town they were holding a Dyno Run so I said hmmm let me try to see where I'm at, I only have a AEM V2, and HKS cat/exhaust...knowing that the crank is 240, i was wondering what kind of power I have at the wheels...the result a nasty 187.27 and 131 tq...I was like damn..that's really bad...a girl next to me said "I'm impressed that you only have that much power" (i was impress myself), she said I bet you I have better HP than u...she has a 01 RSX...I was so dissapointed of my dyno that I have to say I was really in doubt if to go for the bet or not....she only have a intake and run a 177....ufff!! almost got me
I'm just impressed that we don't even hit the 200 at the wheels....Is this normal on S2K or is just mine....I love my vehicle and is a unique class here in my town, nobody has it but events like this will take the respect away from S2's.
Any help / encourage is needed!~!~!

hks supposedly takes away some of those ponies..

It's pretty common for 00-01s to dyno in low 190's...

Some people just get lucky with factory freaks, and some people don't..

So my question is I guess why the S2K is so impressive as far as power?
I know its a well design vehicle and the more you drive it the more you love it...but I don't understand what happend to the power?...I mean a stock RSX with CAI is as good as S2's?
I just can't see it...S2's are (for me) by far a better, faster and more reliable machine

While RSXs generally respond better to mods, they should not be making as much power as an S2000. There is something wrong with your car. Whether it's the exhaust or something else, your car is not healthy.
Even your torque number sounds low. I haven't seen a graph with the AEM v2, but I know that the v1 bumps the peak torque up about 5-10lb-ft, which would put you around 138-142.
Unfortunately, I can't help you find your problem, but if your car is an '01, you might try doing a generic tuneup (change/clean filters & fluids; new plugs; valve adjustment).

Good luck.

Thats about right.I've seen several s2k with simular mods putting down 185 whp.All dynos are slightly different from one an other. If you doubt that then go and find another dyno in you're area and retest,i promise the outcome WILL be different!good luck!!

Yes, dynos readings do vary... but simply by using the comparison between his car & the RSX, I believe his car is not performing as it should. The RSX is 210hp, right... so it probably puts down ~165-170hp stock (I'm using dynojet numbers here). With the intake, 177hp is about right.

A stock S2000, on the other hand, should put down between 200-205hp (on a dynojet). With an intake, 205-210 is about right. Exhausts vary, so I don't know what his exhaust should make (or lose). Regardless, 187hp is way low. Even a stock 2001 S2000 shouldn't make less than low 190s on a bad day. I think 195-200 is about average for pre-02 S2000s.

RSX is 200hp until 2005.
But mxt 77 is right. His numbers are too low if you take into account the RSX's numbers on the same dyno.
