dynos aren't an accurate rating of horsepower.. use caution when you read your #'s b/c dynos are pretty much only good for tuning and measuring gain/loss from mods. you should go to a reliable dyno and stick to it through your modding and tuning so you have an accurate read of progress. changing between dynos is like weighing yourself on multiple scales that are calibrated to their own weight settings. you wont be able to tell how much u actually weigh, but if you stick to 1 scale you'll be able to see your progression

True, atmospheric conditions, sea level, humidity all play a massive role, still not 25hp lol. DD dynos are all calibrated and tested with an actual car before they leave.

Wow, good thing I didn't pick up that JIC like I was looking to do. Puddydaddy, your intake box looks like it came along great, and i recongnize those hood dampers

I think that if you went with the T1R 70RR or J's 60 or 70 you'd make power. J's is much more expensive, but you can find a cheap used one. I'm getting a 60RS for $600. Not too bad, just look around and you'll find the deals.

I have a mugen style snorkel and a HKS 3" single exhaust and I put down 218hp at the wheels on a dyno dynamics!!! I plan to get my valves adjusted and tune with a newly installed apexi neo and plan to make around 238whp!! Stick to the mods that are simple and make sense.
You sound like the guy who was at P-Tuning awhile back. I have to laugh at the numbers. I was there that morning.

If you are that guy, you dyno'd 3hp less than my 2.5L on that dyno on a different day. My car is the same car that pulled on P-Tuning's turbo'd Scion at Redline's Time Attack in September. Need proof? Toan told me so at the track.

The guys at P-Tuning are nice guys(Toan and Mr. C), but your car isn't putting out anywhere near the power my car is despite whatever dyno numbers you got.

so i went to the dyno day at the horse power connection in ft. lauderdale and my car only put down 171.6!! what could be wrong with my car? it has 70k on it with a JIC Magic exhaust and test pipe and aem v2 cold air intake. the first pull was only 165.8!! no check engine light and the car seems to pull strong. my turbo civic tuner said it could possivbly be my spark plugs or gas filter? anyone have any ideas? please help!
6hp between two runs? Sounds like a dyno operator inconsistency.

If I had numbers that low, the first thing I would do is a compression test. If those numbers looked inconsistent across the four, I'd then do a leak-down test. In order to do the compression test, you have to pull the plugs- obviously inspect them.

Does your tuner having a turbo civic make him a better tuner?
