Not sure why you'd want to, the DRL's do make a car more visible under less than perfect conditions.
As was the case many years ago when DRLs became manditory for all cars sold in Canada, the general motoring population had a mini-revolt to protest being "legislated". It was an issue to do with "rights and freedoms".
"We will not be inflicted with manditory equipment on our cars even though it's safer for us." The same sort of thing happened when seat belts became manditory. Eventually, we all see the logic in it or we just accept it.

Tangental: If only DRLs included running lights in the rear of vehicles as well, so it wouldn't be as bad when people forget to turn on their normal light system in the rain.

i tired to disable the DRLs on my WRX...ended up to be more of a pain than it was worth.

Could an 06 owner post a picture of what the front of the car looks like with the DRL on?

Are the parking lamps lit brightly, the direction indicators or the high beams glowing softly?

Currently in Europe legislation is being developed to mandate DRLs here too as far as I know only in combination with tail lights on(!!)

Thanks!

The new camry's allow you to switch off the DRL. This doesn't make much sense as far as saftey goes, but it does help please everyone. I don't see why they don't have this feature on every car sold where it is not mandatory.

Since the configuration of the headlights didn't change from '04 and '05, I would assume that the DRLs for those S2000s that have them, would not change either. In Canada, the S uses the highbeam at about 50% power for DRLs.

The high beams run at half power. It looks pretty ugly
