DTR Lights
Hi, I am a new S2k owner and I made my fist post over in the introduction section. I mentioned that I pulled the fuse on my day time running lights. It worked but now DTR is lit up on the dash. Chazmo suggested that we might want to start a topic over here about it since a few of us wanted info on the same topic.
I found that there is a fuse that is dedicated to DTR lights. I pulled it but now there it says DTR on the instrument panel. I looked that up in the owners manual and the car is detecting that there is a problem with the DTR system.
Does anyone know of a better way to disable the lights? I can live with DTR lit up but if I could get that to go out it would be a plus.

We need to know if you have a US car that has DRL's fitted, or a canadian car that came from the factory with them.

Does the '06 have OEM DRLs in the US?
It's a safety feature than you can't see while you are driving. Why mess with it?
You could always take the instrument cluster apart and remove the bulb.

No US spec car came with factory DRL's untill the 06. If you have a pre-06 california car, they where added or you really have a Canadian car.
There are several aftermarket kits available to retro DRL's to a non DRL equipped car.

I don't have the 06 wiring info yet. The easiest thing to try would be to unplug the DRL control unit under the dash. Looking at the 04 Canadian DRL's this should remove all the DRL functions, including the indicator.
Not sure why you'd want to, the DRL's do make a car more visible under less than perfect conditions.

The car is bright yellow so I am not too worried about being seen
I live in an area that gets foggy often in the winter so I am used to running my car's with the headlights on when visibility sucks.
Thanks!
