Thumbs up DTC P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect

i started the car one night and the CEL light came on, went to borrow a OBDII scanner and it throw a P0411 code, i looked it up and it is "Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected"

i did a little research and all i can find is that its supposed to be a pump or something that pump air into the exhaust or something?

can someone please elaborate on the meaning of this code and what steps i should take to fix this issue?

also, when i was using the obd-2 scanner (autoxray 6000 i think), it said "freeze frame detected" what does this mean?

thanks guys in advance

-minh

p.s. i took the car to the dealer to have the transmission and differential fluid changed the same day the CEL light came on

i havent done anything under the hood, just got the car 2 weeks ago

the clutch was rattling so i brought it to the dealership to have it check out, and replace the transmission and differential fluid at the same time, drove 40 miles home, park the car, came out an hour later, start the car and the CEL came on

You need to go through this:

You may not have done anything with or to the intake, but follow the steps and you may find something is not quite right.

Could this failure potentially cause an odd fuel or gas smell to emitt for the car into the cabin? I've had the check engine light on for a while now because of the same code.

I'm hoping that if I fix this it will stop the fuel smell I sometimes get occurring inside my car.

Does this primarily happen when the car is first started and warming up to operating temps? If so, then this is a possibility as air is injected into the exhaust manifold to assist in completing the combustion process of unburnt hydrocarbons when the engine is just warming up. A malfunction in the 2ndary air injection system would not allow the catalytic converter to work at full efficiency.

Chances are the deelor didnt put the car back together correctly. This is VERY common. Find another deelor and bring the car there to get fixed. I find incompetent deelors only destroy your car rather than fixing

It happens when I am driving, and I put the windows down, I can smell rich exhaust fumes..When I put the windows back up, the smell goes away. However, when I park the car for 10-15 mins, when I come back I can smell the same fuel smell inside the car.

This only happens sometimes, and usually when there is less then 1/2 tank of gas left.

Thanks
