Like spitfire said, check the fuses in the engine bay. look at ALL of them.

I agree, harrison. I would also try avoid the dealership expense.

I would start looking at all fuses by pulling out one at a time.

Take a look at ALL fuses, it'll only take a few minutes. You have nothing to loose.

No CEL with key on=no power to ecu (possible fuses) or fried ecu. I guess the bulb cuold be blown, but that is very unlikely.

Get the CEL to come on with the key on. Think it comes on as a bulb check then turns off.

It looked like he finally checked fuse # 46 located in the fuse box in the engine bay.
It probably took him some time to locate the box because he had no clue what it looked like - he had no picture of the damned thing.
It seemed like the white/green wire - the one he shorted to brown - is the wire to the PGM-F1 master relais.
But I have no clue whatsoever where he got that info from.
Maybe it actually solved itself.
