Default dropping my tranny prob

I have all the bolts out and it moved out about half an inch to an inch. in a writeup it says to make sure to "pull out the release fork" so it can release the tranny. i have played with the fork and i think that may be the problem...

hmm what am i missing???

Pull the fork out to release it from the spring clip that holds it in. When it's released the fork should move outside approx 2-3 inches but still be captive inside the trans.

I am prying on it pretty hard and it isnt releasing, does the tranny need to be butted up against the motor? is there something that may be wrong? it moves a little and i can get it to click, but no dice.

The trans must be flush with the block. Then pull out.
