Thumbs up Driveshaft bolts came loose -- grease spray pics

So I changed my clutch with my mechanic friend about a month ago. I was under the car changing my O2 sensor when I saw all this grease spray in my transmission well. At first I thought it was a gasket, but then I realized the bolts were loose.

Here are some pics of the grease that sprayed around the well. What do you guys think? Do I need to re-grease this thing or am I safe to just tighten everything up?

Thank you for your help!

That grease is the CV grease from that joint. When the bolts are loose, the cap allows the grease to spray out.

I would just retorque the drive shaft bolts, clean up the mess with brake cleaner and a rag and check it in a month to see if it is still happening.

Personal, I had the same issue with a drive shaft, but I also had some drive line noise. So I tossed the shaft and replaced it with a used one. Now this happened in my track only car, and it spends too much time on a lift. so it is eeasy for me to swap and check it.

Thanks for the reply Strat. I will retorque and clean it up.

What kind of driveline noise were you experiencing? I have some noise but I believe it's mostly due to my new Clutchmasters Stage 3 clutch. Wonder what I should listen for to differentiate between the two...

Bump -- just looking for other opinions

Any idea where I can get this CV Grease and how I would re-grease it?

I had vibration in the drive line too. We knew some of it was in the Diff LSD. Turned out to be part of the problem. The tranny was also going too. So it is hard to explain what one sounded like when I had three issues at the same time.

You can get CV grease just about at any autoparts store I would bet.

Hmm, I have the same leakage on the rear driveshaft CV, but the bolts are 100% tight. I have a vibration under power, and it goes away when I coast. I think it's either the CV or the axle cups/buckets.
