Default drive shaft spacer / axle issue

Hey guys so broke an axle pic below , I bought a used one from Toronto jdm ( that ended up being f@#ked ) and we noticed that we couldn't get the lowver balljoint into the lower control arm, took off the drive shaft spacer (t1r) and it went in perfect . Could the pressure from being retarded tight with the spacer cause the axle to break like in the picture? We noticed this must of been an issue before because the same side axle was a junk yard replacement.

Had to get the car out of the shop so drove it home and clunks very bad axle is f@#ked

Hate buying used to going to buy new axles now but don't want this issue happening again if its the spacers causing this

07 Ap2

Thanks

Default

this actually happened to me too except it happened when i was tightening it after doing the wheel bearing install. i wanted to make sure it was tight enough so i wouldn't have to do it again and as i was tightening i heard and felt aloud pang and i just knew. lol

but based on my experience I'm gonna say that i don't think the wheel spacers caused it i think it was simply over tightened. torque it down as per billmans technique ( search billman axle nut). don't use an impact gun on it.
