Drilled rotors, Motul rbf600
Well, I went and did it. I had Porterfield drill my rotors. They look sweet (I don't have a camera.) I weighed the rotors #15 front, #10 back stock. The drilling decreased the weight by an amount not detectable by my scale on the rears (17 holes) and about 1-2 ounces on the fronts (40 holes.)
Thanks to all of you who posted about problems pulling rotors. The job went very smoothly.
I bought some Motul Racing Brake Fluid 600 from the motorcycle shop then bought some Motul RBF 600 Factory Line from Porterfield. Although both are labeled Racing Brake Fluid or RBF 600, the specs are different. The motul from Porterfield has a dry boiling point of 594 degrees and the motorcycle stuff 585 degrees. I asked at Porterfield if they knew the difference and all they could offer is their stock is fresh and turns over very fast.
FYI,
