Stopped by the electronics store and picked up a 1N4002 diode so I can splice a wire with the diode cathode to the green parking brake output and connect the other side to a splice of the Light Blue wire out of the clutch interlock switch.
The car will now start if the parking brake pulled with no foot on the pedals, but will also start normally if you push the clutch only instead.

This is similar to what I did but I went even more overboard. I spliced in to the wiring for the VSA momentary switch in the dash. That means the clutch interlock functions as normal but I can also bypass it by pushing and holding the VSA switch and then the start button. I like the idea that it is such an oddball maneuver that a layperson driver who does not know of the bypass cannot accidentally engage the starter with the transmission in gear. With the interlock bypass on the handbrake this is quite possible as the handbrake is much more common to be engaged during startup.

...and its entirely possible the handrake isn't engaged enough to stop the car if it starts in gear. I am going to do the brake pedal, banking on the fact that if someone stars the car with foot only lightly on brake, and car starts to move, instinct will be to just press harder...

I thought about that as well but the brake switch is reverse polarity. Check out my thread on what I did: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...-twist-1179082 Post 14 I replied to you on that subject.

We don't have the clutch switch on UK cars,we just don't start it in gear.

Whatever happened in the end? I had the same thing happen to my s2000 about the same time, my block looks the exact same as yours. Mine was a 2001 and completely stock. Where you able to salvage the block?

my crank is a f22 and have the same problem just curious if the machine shop was able to successfully fix it TIA
