down on top end...
lately my s has seemed to have noticeably less top end zip. i've also noticed a bit of a rough idle occasionally, once or twice early today it dropped to just a couple hundred rpm. didn't stall.
the weather is the same; cool, not particularly humid or particularly dry. same gas as always. low end (hah) and midrange seem about the same.
this morning i reset the ecu, changed the oil, checked the air filter (clean), and the tires all around. didn't seem to make much difference >6000rpm. down low it feels more responsive, probably because ditching the LFT leaned it out by a bit. i noticed when changing the oil a very slight tranny fluid leak - a few drops of oil on the floor of my parking spot in a location that couldn't have possibly been motor oil. i can't think of a possible correllation there.
my first thought is valves, because of the idle and the fact that it's mostly top end (feels like a breathing problem almost.) car has about 20k and the valves have not been touched. any other suggestions that are relatively easy to check out?

My car idles the same and when i was having a power loss problem it was because the map sensor. It only takes two minutes and it is worth a try. Unplug the map sensor and just give it a couple of light taps and then plug it back in. Sounds crazy but has worked for alot of us. Good Luck

Yup, Map sensor. Tap on it with the back end of a screw driver. I usually remove it as well just to make sure nothing is obstructing the sensor hole.
If for some reason that doesn't fix it then you need to check your spark plugs. Check both the gap and that they are tightly installed.

I tried it and it worked like magic! I just wonder who comes up with quick fixes like that. It would never have occurred to me. Anyway, my MY00 now idles like new!
Thanks

The tech at my dealer that works on my car has been complaining to honda about our map sensors and honda told him the fix for it is to just unplug it and plug it back in. But we here at s2ki like to give it a couple taps. However you do it , it really works.
