Does s2k need to be warmed up?
Today I was pulling out of my school parking lot in a 2002 stock s2000... then I gunned it when I hit the main street, right around the time I was supposed to hit VTEC, The car stuttered and died back to idle. This happened a couple times before, but only the 1st time I start the car up and drive it. Is 30 seconds enough time to hit vtec? Or do I need to let the car warm up before I push it? The weather was about 80 degrees in California so It wasn't freezing or anything. Thanks in advanced!

What year is your car? I think my '07 needs 6 or 7 bars before it's warm. Just take it easy for the first 5 minutes of driving.

Yes, please read your owner's manual. If you bought your car used and it didn't come with an owner's manual, you can borrow one from a friend or order one from here:

After reading that, read the thread at the top of this forum titled "FAQs, DIY and Maintenance". It'll help prevent you from asking a silly question.

I let mine warm up to 3 bars before stomping on it...
but I usually will start it and let it sit for 30-45 seconds, then drive off and keep the rpms below 3K until it gets 3 bars
