Does oiled air filter foul sensor?
I'm a new S2000 owner. I've heard stories that the oil that is added to certain air filters, such as K&N, to improve their filtering ability sometimes has a tendency to move downstream and foul a sensor. Has anyone experienced this? Is it anything to be concerned about? Thanks for an insights.

in MAF sensor cars yes
hondas run on MAP sensors so there is NO danger at all
MAF sensor works by putting a very thin wire through the intake air charge and heating it up with 5 volts to lets say 500* F with air at a stand still as air moves past the sensor the sensor cools it changes the amount of voltage and the ecu knows how much air is going based on the temp of the maf sensor
an oiled air filter does let small particles of oil into the system, this oil sticks to the thin wire in a MAF sensor changing the resistance of the wire, the temp reading is off due to oil residue being burned onto the wire over time.
short answer you will have no issue

You can over oil the filter, but it's not going to kill the MAP sensor. My breather line would have done that years ago. Just make sure it saturated completely, but not dripping. Buy a dryflo when you can afford it and be done with that oily mess.

OVER-oiled filters are all too common causing problems with sensors and reducing performance. A properly maintained oiled filter does a good job but too many are messed up by well-meaning but poor home maintenance.

I'm not sure. Didn't even think about it being a OEM k&n. I know they would have the size, but the male neck is the oddity on the S. I wonder if a short piece of pipe could be used as a male to male adapter. There's just enough room in the box to add a inch or so to the length.

yup the oil vapor from the valve cover would have killed all the sensors long ago is oil mist could harm them

I run Dryflow filters in my other cars and have found them to be excellent in keeping the dirt and dust out of my engines.
Here is the page for the different sizes

Looks like 1/4" increments so you should find one to fit.
