Does high oil consumption have anything to do with
Just wondering because my car drinks oil. Probably about 1 and a half qts every 1000 miles on Mobil 1. I switched to Amsoil recently but haven't checked the results yet.

MY ap1 burned over 2 quarts in 3000 miles with mobile 1 synthetic, switched to castrol and now burn 1 quart(maybe a bit less) in 3000 miles. Wait a bit and see if you oil comsumption goes down with amsoil, because for me it did.

krank vents also fixed my oil burning problem
my car has 220 psi in all 4 cylinders but it use to burn about 1 quart of oil ever 1000 miles. after the krank vents i burn about 1 quart or less every 3000 miles

either worn valve seals, or scored cylinder walls, or fault piston rings 1.5qt is alot to burn off in 1000 miles also your drivin style could influence this a bit, and a lower compression will deff have an effect on oil consumption only due to the cause of the lower compression, maybe a cracked retainer its pretty common and will deff cause low comp test results
