Finally managed to get the box out, to look at the bearings.

However the rear does not look right to me, is this normal or has it been broken/repaired?




Also to remove the rear, do i need to undo the big main shaft nut? If so how do i do this without the shaft spinning?

looks like corrosion doesn't look like its been welded before

Looks like it was busted off and welded back on.

No need to remove the nut. Shaft will come off with the tailshaft housing.
