Does the 00/01 ECU run rich?

Also, how are you calculating your MPGs? Are you making a full spreadsheet or at least doing top-off to top-off?

Probably Imperial, which means you're getting more MPG than the equivalent US, especially if you're in Canada.
33 Imperial MPG = 27 US MPG if my calculations are correct.

drop in filter and tein s tech. oem tune.
I reset my tripometer after every fill up. Always same gas station brand, usually same style pump and I try to use the same pump if I can.

MY01, runs rich but runs good, valve tolerance is perfect, alignment is slightly aggressive, dropped lightly, test pipe and KN intake, running 32-35 PSI (cold), burns normal amount of oil..
totally dont understand why you're getting nearly 50% better mpgs than I.
Ambient temp: ~80s-90s consistently, humidity is almost always 60-rain%, sea level, crappy roads.
usually shift around 2.5-4k depending what gear/where I am.
on the freeway, I get perhaps 25mpgs while cruising around 55 in 6th gear.
---edit---
im not a mpg freak or "hypermiler" just wondering why theres such a large difference.

Cruising speed impacts MPG exponentially. Other things that hurt mileage are low altitudes, cool temperatures, low tire pressures, poor running condition, and / or having the top or windows down.

I've gotten 29mpg all highway in my '01 AP1 travelling about 65-70mph. Normally I do about 50/50 city/highway and get about 22-23 mpg. I do step on it every once in awhile. As long as I'm getting over 20mpg, I'm cool with it.

Driving 90% highway - 10 % city I get between 25.9-27.0 mpg.
Cruising around 75 mph on the highway.
With 4.57's / OEM'00 ECU
My sec O2 is now 10 years / 180.000 km old.
Prim O2 is from '05.
Would an O2 sensor be considered a "wear" item?
