Fully every time. Never had any smoothness issues.

Partially. My pedal only has to be depressed about 2 inches.

On topic: I agree with the mostly aforementioned.

Agreed - you only have 3/4 of the shifting game figured out. You're shifting close to the right time - probably close to rev-matching, but causing excessive wear on the syncros and clutch if you don't fully disengage the clutch.

The proper shift sequence is precise: One - the clutch goes ALL the way to the floor; Two - move the shifter from one gear slot to the next (matching throttle), letting the neutral detent participate in the motion (don't rip it through the neutral gate from one gear to the next in one rough motion - it should be a rapid/quick and punctuated "click-click" sound.); Three - simultaneously coordinate the de-clutch and throttle.

All the way to the floor. Otherwise enjoy the pain and cost of replacing the effected components sooner than you should have to. I assure you you're not saving effort or time. It's just plain sloppy and lazy technique as well.

once i got in the s and drove it i was stunned,

shift 1/3 the way down and shift and everything hooks up nicely..
but i always been pushing it all the way all the time,

but once i shifted from 4th to 5th and didnt push down all the way and grinded gears
SO I ALWAYS PUSH ALL THE WAY

dont be lazyyy (:

Thanks for the input guys! I definitely need to practice my footwork then.

1. clutch all the way down
2. shift gears (gently with very slight pause in neutral)
3. declutch and throttle

I have noticed if you dont do a slight pause in neutral from 1st to 2nd, 2nd gears feels rough and as if something wasnt letting me put the car in gear.
