Do I need to smack my MAP sensor?

Its the sensor on the top of your throttle body. It is labeled "MAP". Which stands for Manifold Air Pressure.

I wouldn't whack it unless you are experiencing the stutter/hesistation.

FYI: Also another cause of the stutter can also be loose spark plugs. Tho 99% of the time its your map. But I had it happen once and found 1 of my plugs loose.

I thought it was "Manifold Absolute Pressure", but I've heard it called "Manifolt Atmospheric Pressure". What does the Helm's call it?

Smacking did not work for me, I tried a couple times. Then I removed the sensor and cleaned up the the contact areas & washer and put it back, it seems to have helped.

PS: That washer does not seem to be the right size to me.

Washer? There should be a rubber O-Ring between the sensor and the TB. If the O-ring is missing or damaged dont expect the car to run right. Ask me how i know
