Default Do I need a new rear diff?

Well I am about to buy a new clutch since I went FI with a CT SC and the clutch sometimes slips under heavy acceleration. I have been looking at an ACT clutch kit with the street disk. If I buy that clutch kit would I also need to replace the rear diff? if so is there another clutch kit that would hold the power ok and allow me to hold the rear diff? If not what rear diff solution would be cheapest?

no need for a rear diff... just keep fresh fluid at the correct levels. and never launch your car

I guess if one of those neon skittles pulls up to me at the lights and revs their engine ill have to let them pull away from me.

So even the heavy duty ACT clutch will be ok with the stock diff? I try not to drop the clutch. You go faster if u let it out anyway.

I just have 85k on my 01 and when I put the blower in I didn't think the clutch was a must do thing. It doesn't slip that bad so I might wait till next season to do the install if I can't get a clutch kit soon. (it only slips sometimes under heavy acceleration) I have just heard of rear diffs going out with the ACT and it seems like it is a lot less expensive to upgrade the housing before it blows. But then again I am only on the stock pulley and I don't drag race the car.

rear diffs tend to go, on ap1s regardless on FI or not... if you take care of it and dont put to much stress its fine... I have only heard of diffs really going from hard launching or donuts ect. not saying you can never launch it.Just keep in mind about your stock weak diff so ride the clutch a little bu\it on hard launches if you want to launch. As far as the neon you will be able to reel him in easily after a launch... ive owned a srt4 in the past there not good off the line.

When you say "Neon Skittle" are you talking about an actual neon or just any person that has a car with enough lights that they have a back up generator in the trunk?

Either way I wouldnt launch... Just do rolls

If you want have get the stage 2 puddymod for your diff. Look into the SOS Sport clutch kit.

I was looking into that clutch kit but it is a lot more expensive than the act and doesn't hold as much power. I didn't really understand what u were saying though.

You can launch the car but dont go out doing 6k+rpm clutch dumps. just let the clutch slip and you should be fine. as far as the diff a puddy mod stage 2 will be enough. you can launch the hell out of the car once you get one

if you plan on getting a new diff, you could send your old one to puddy and he could make it bombproof. As stated before, puddymod stage 2.
