Default Do I need a new clutch?

All the sudden my shifting has been catching. The shifter is difficult to get into 1-3 sometimes and sometimes it is not very noticeable. It has a sticky and heavy feeling when it does. It is not a temperature issue with warming up the transmission. Also when starting out in first gear, I need to apply more gas and shifting into 2nd jerk is jerky unless I slip the clutch more. Does this sound like my clutch is going out? If so anyone know any good shops in Orange County area that will do the labor for a good price?

There is no fluid leak. I played around with it and it does catch even when the car is in park and I am just shifting through the gears with the clutch all the way in.

Flush and bleed your hydraulic clutch system. If this doesn't work, the hydraulic fluid is either leaking by the master cylinder seals or slave cylinder seals. The end result is that your clutch is not disengaging fully.

Turns out the issue is indeed my clutch is worn down so it is not disengaging completely. =(

Weak pressure plate? Is your pedal hard to push down? Does it slip?

There is a buzz when letting off the pedal. I am going to get the clutch replaced next weekend at a private shop. The stealership wanted $3400 to put in a new clutch/flywheel.

That is a ripoff, the parts are about $750 for all OEM, and about 6 hours of labor, so even the stealership charging $125-135/h shouldn't be more than $1,400-1,500 total. I guess they charge list price for the parts and tack on another 40% that's the only way that math adds up.
