Default Do I need to adjust my clutch? **VIDEO**

Hello everyone,

I bought a 2005 Honda S2000 not too long ago with 63k miles. The gear change from 1st to 2nd was a little bit scratchy since I bought it, but I attributed it to the cold weather and not shifting properly since it was a new car to me. Since then I've changed the transmission fluid, had the master cylinder replaced (it was leaking), and then had the clutch system bled. All this was done by a mechanic highly recommended on this forum, so I'm pretty confident they did it right.

As of this point, here are the current symptoms:

1st to 2nd, doesn't necessarily grind per say (maybe every so often when revving high), but feels more like a metal on metal feeling, and it doesn't really want to find its home or go into gear. 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th, and so on, all feel fairly normal....maybe slightly notchy, but nothing distracting. I've also noticed 1st doesn't always want to cooperate. Most of the time it is fine, but sometimes it feels as like second does. Kind of a metal on metal feeling or as if the gear slot is too small for the shifter.

After doing some research on here, I've tried the following advice:

Change the transmission fluid: done
Bleed clutch system: done
Be very methodical with 1st to 2nd shifting: done
Adjust clutch pedal: not done
Grease the shifter: not done

At this point though, I know adjusting the clutch pedal is something many of you have done with good results. I'd say I'm a fairly average mechanic (replacing water pumps, oil changes, etc), but for some reason I can't get my head around adjusting the clutch and doing it right. I know if its done incorrectly I could possibly do some serious damage with it slipping.

I uploaded a video that I'm hoping someone can look at and let me know if there is too much play in the pedal. I don't really know what I'm looking for, but figured the experts on here would. If I'm not getting the right angles I can always retake it too.

Let me know what you all think

Clutch free play is a tad excessive, but not enough to cause your problems. Greasing the shifter isn't going to help. Is the transmission getting better as the car gets warm?

It seems like in general as the car warms up it does improve, but not by a considerable amount. Sometimes it'll be silky smooth, other times it'll be pretty rough, regardless of the temperature outside or time driven. I'm not sure what temperature people are referring to when its cold out and they say the shifting is rough, but if its anything between 40 and 55 its gonna be pretty rough for myself...I don't want to even think what freezing temps would be like.

Do you skip shift? ie go from 2nd to 4th, or 1st to 3rd, skipping a gear.

Its common to have rough shifting until the transmission warms up. Mine is also choppy in colder temps (anything less that 60) but shifts fine once its warm. Also, they tend to shift smoother at higher rpms.
