Do I have major rear end problems?
My car is a 04' 50k miles have owned it for 2 weeks.
Just noticed this sound in the last 2 days. Everytime I come to a stop during decel under 10MPH there is a humming or light rubbing noise from what sounds like the rear axel that is in snyc with the rotation of the wheels. So every full rotation the noise occurs once.
Its not to loud because i really dont here it over the radio.
Anyone have a idea of what this could be??
Thanks!

Had my wheel bearing and hub replaced for around $300.
Usually though the wheel bearing sound is consistent with speed, not on decel. Maybe your differential might be whining a bit. I'd drain the fluid and look for anything suspect.

So I don't think it the wheel bearing. I took the car to my buddies house who is a Honda Tech at Seattle Honda and he said its not the bearing, but he heard the sound. I really doesn't know what is. I'm going to take to down to him at Honda once the shop is closed and he going to put it on the lift and change all the fluids and take a look at the sound again.
So what he did before he even drove the car was to check the bearings so he lifted the rear end up and spin the wheels and there was no sound. He ruled out the bearings.
So we took the car car for a ride and the sound was there when coming to a stop, he first thought there was something stuck in brakes like a rock rubbing against the rotors.
We lifted the rear up again and took the tires off and spun the hubs to check but they spun freely.
Next he had me put the car in gear and give it gas to spin the tires and then let the car out of gear to have the tires coast to a stop and the sound was there. He is thinking that the sound is coming from the axle.
We are going to change the diff fluid and see if that helps.
Any other ideas guys?

I'd still say it could be a bearing. My failing bearing only made noise when warm/hot from driving around.
