are you worried about the duct channeling water straight onto the filter element?

Nah, i think that would be really minimal, if there goes any water into the duct, it will just fall out on tje other end and disappears trought one of the many holes on the bottom of the plastic floor underneath the filter...

But i can make a sort of splash guard on the filter if necessary.
