Does anyone turn their engine on and rev it up to about 3k after they drain the oil?

This is supposedly done to get the old oil out of the engine oil pump.

Lmfao you're joking. Just buy an extra quart of oil and dump the whole quart in there. Reving an engine with low/no oil will cost and cause damage

Absolutely do not do this. Never run the engine without oil

Try tightening the bolt, sometimes that will break it loose. Its counterintuitive but it works.

Do i specifically need the honda brand oil filter wrench, or will one from pep boys do?

Won't need ramps again with this. Fumoto valve. Love em. Change the oil with just the hood up. No more messing with the drain bolt. I have a 'pliers' style oil filter wrench that is fine, WalMart.

Any filter wrench works. I use oem wrench on my civic and pep boys one for my S.
