Got a question. Does it look like the pillar bar on the drivers side would interfere with an A pillar that has dual guage pods?

Yes, the Cusco cage blocks the use of a A-pillar gauge pod.

you can install a five poit harness without putting a roll cage in the car. the stock bolts for the seatbelt give you one shoulder and one lap point. the seat has the other lap point and the other shoulder can have the strap wrapped around the other part of the stock roll bar you can even cut a little piece of the plastic and make it look clean for the inside shoulder strap

Great write up and pics.

However, I would also be worried about head to bar contact like some of the other posters, especially on the side bar during a rollover or if striking a solid object (aka tree, pole, etc) sideways on the driver side and experiencing a sudden deceleration in that direction. Your head will continue traveling in the direction of the door/window/bar. Unless you are incredibly short and then I guess the chance isn't as likely. I'm just remembering striking my head on the softtop side when it was up and I'm only 6' tall.

You can swallow a razor blade, too, but I wouldn't recommend that either.

Just for future reference, here are dozens of crash test videos from consumer reports. You'll clearly see how much a driver moves during front and side crash tests. A head hitting a harness bar or cage without a helmet is bad news.
