DIY Clutch installation at home question

it wasn't easy by any means. it took me and a friend most of the day. i've done tons of civic and teg tranny and the s2k is by far one of the worse. the only thing worse than the s2k for me was the Evo.
just wait until you try to get to the starter bolts, it's real fun. i have no idea why honda put the starter there when there's enough room to put it anywhere else for easier access. also, get yourself a tranny jack like the one i have if you don't already have one. i got mine from Harbor Freight for $60.

If I ever have to replace my clutch again it will be too soon. 16 to 20 inches should be fine. I did the same, just slid the tranny back to access the clutch, no need to pull it out from under the car.

Just got done doing mine today. Took out the tranny and engine and put in a new block and got the tranny back in. Was not as bad as I thought. I did have the head and accessories off the engine which made it much easier. I used a floor jack and a board to support the tranny and get it in place.

Probably all you need is to loosen the steering shaft coupler, reposition the wheel, and tighten it back. The alignment should not have changed.

you have to drop the subframe to remove the tranny. the lower control arms are bolted to the subframe. if the subframe is not back at the same spot, then the whole alignment could change. there's a lot of play in the subframe bolt.
