Default DIY Brake Ducting

I want front brake ducting. I don't want to spend $400 for Ben's CF ducts and I never heard anything from him re: fiber glass ones. Besides, I don't care "too much" about looks.

What can I do?

Don't know how much you want to spend but I think Giampiero's were cheaper than Ben's. Otherwise you could always go to a hardware store and pick up some tubing (like the ones used for your clothes dryer). Then get ready for some cutting/hacking of plastic parts.

Rylan, you could always drop your car off at King like I am doing this coming week to have them do it!

Chris, you're correct, there really isn't a 'kit' per se, that King has designed for ducts, but they have a process now that they have done 4-5 S2000's brake ducts. Next time I talk to Scott, I'll ask him about doing a kit of some sort. They do a very thorough job, even cutting out the backing plate on the rotor and welding the ducting to it so that the air is shot right onto the surface of the rotor.

I'll post pics when I get it back.

is King also adding rear brake ducting to your car?
have they done this for anyone you know of?

Look up Pegasus saftey equipment online. Buy some naca ducts and three inch hose and some wire mesh. I spent about 80 bucks on mine total and it took about 2 hours to install. Alan Higgi saw mine at mid Ohio two weeks ago ask him waht he thought. There is no reson to spend 300 hundred dollars on brake ducting unless your into looks,but who is really going to look to see if your naca duxts are carbon fibre s. plastic.

No, just the front brakes at this point. I don't think they have done any rear ducts on an S2000. I agree, spending 300-400 dollars on the ducts themselves is nothing short of silly...spending that kind of money on it the way that King does it, oh yea. It's the way it should be done and when you don't happen to be into welding (like me!), it's cash well spent...

King's solution is to cut the backing plate (heat shield?) inside the rotor, then the tube is welded on the backing plate...

King's work was first class on my ducts as has been mentioned. I don't have any pics - I need to borrow a camera for that (hint, hint Greg).
