Surely that bit is self explanatory.

Don't make me draw a diagram.

Both kits are legal in the US
CARB is not that strict.

It's a different story in Australia though

alright let me spell this out for ya....lol

In California it is illegal to blow off into the atmosphere
Comptech non aftercooled is 50 state legal
California is 1 of the 50 states
Comptech uses a bypass valve to satisfy California requirements
Other states are not as strict as California, so in other states it would be legal to have a blow off valve

If comptech used a blow off valve instead of bypass valve they would not be 50 state legal, again this means they use bypass valve to be 50 state legal.

Hope this clarifies.

Austblue, if you are allowed to blow off in the atmosphere then you can have any of the kits.

The comptech aftercooled version is 50 state legal pending, this kit also includes a blow off valve.

The vortech has a blow off valve, so I would assume California would consider it illegal, but maybe there are other ways around this law, that is if vortech is even claiming to be 50 state legal.

Got me confused there. I know it has an attachment for the bypass hose so it would pass Cali's requirements. I have also seen that this attchment unbolts so you can install a BOV. But it doesn't actually come with one does it?

The Vortech is specifically CA CARB legal. It has CA CARB numbers written all over it, and I believe it came with documentation to show a Smog inspector.
